In a recent correspondence, Paul Jackson, CEO of TasWaste South, provided feedback on the draft Emissions Reduction and Resilience Plan (ERRP) for the waste sector, which was supported by the Tasmanian Government. Jackson expressed appreciation for amendments made to the State of Play Report following previous feedback and identified areas for improvement in the ERRP.

Paul highlighted the need for a detailed action plan to operationalise high-level opportunities and stressed the importance of clear alignment between the ERRP and the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.

Additionally, TasWaste South pointed out critical considerations for processing capacity in organics management and the necessity of contingency planning for waste infrastructure resilience, especially given Tasmania’s geographical challenges. TasWaste South is eager to contribute to the successful implementation of these plans.
