Executive Summary - Issue 8

TasWaste South is finalising its inaugural Strategic Plan, focusing on Coordinating Activities, Building Relationships, Leading Change, and Changing Waste Behaviours. This aligns with the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.

We’re revamping Rethink Waste to enhance its impact on waste education and behaviour change. Recent collaborations with Cleanaway have clarified recycling guidelines for residents.

Key activities include attending the WMRR Forum, developing a regional litter management plan, and rebranding TasWaste South for clearer communication. The Garage Sale Trail was a highlight, with strong community participation and economic benefits.

We continue to engage with local councils and stakeholders to ensure effective waste management across Southern Tasmania. Stay tuned for more updates!
